14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, very thick black eyeliner, painted black lashes, brush stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips,blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition body jointed at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J. 4 J. Comments: Armand Jules Juillien, circa 1891,the exact doll is pictured in the Encyclopedia of French Dolls, Volume I, page 306. Value Points: rare doll with richly painted features, original body, wonderful original costume and shoes.
