20" (52 cm.) Composition socket head, painted facial features, painted lashes, blue eyes with spiral detail, fringed brows, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, brunette human hair braids, five piece composition lanky body of older child, wearing red cotton blouse and plaid kilt, roller skates. Condition: generally excellent, few faint surface lines, costume appears original. Marks: Effanbee American Children (head) Effanbee Anne-Shirley (body). Comments: Effanbee, designed by Dewees Cochran, circa 1940. Value Points: beautiful facial modeling and painting of the older child.
