15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted facial features, dark blue eyes with intaglio shaped eye sockets, painted upper eyeliner, short stroke brows, accented nostrils of upturned nose, closed mouth with four modeled teeth between the outlined lips, brunette mohair wig with coiled side braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume comprising tunic with embroidered details, red cotton skirt with playful border of circus clowns, red knit stockings, tan leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 4 M Z. Comments: Armand Marseille, circa 1910, from their rare series of painted eye art character dolls. Value Points: excellent bisque, sculpting and painting on the rare model with original body and body finish, wonderful costume.
