Description
15" (38 cm.) All cloth doll with pressed and oil painted complexion and facial features, impasto sculpted and painted blonde hair, blue eyes, long black upper lashes, white eye dots, red accent dots at eye corners and nostrils, blonde one-stroke brows, closed mouth with accented lips, stitch- jointed cloth body, separate thumbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: The Chase Stockinet Doll (paper label on torso) (Dutch girl head symbol on torso). Comments: Martha Chase, circa 1900. Value Points: near mint condition of the century-old cloth doll with wonderful painting, original labels, wearing antique costume of blue romper suit and sweater, leather shoes, that is probably original.
