17" (44 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with very pale complexion and plump facial modeling, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, unpierced ears, blond human hair wig over cork pate, very firmly stuffed kid poupee body with plump shapely torso, kid over wooden upper arms, bisque arms to above the elbows, ball-jointed knees with kid over wooden lower legs, antique gown, undergarments, leather slippers with hand stitched detail. Condition: generally excellent, body quite sturdy and clean, hairline on left arm above the elbow, two fingers repaired. Marks: (illegible stamp on torso). Comments: in the manner of dolls from the Eugene Barrois firm, circa 1860. Value Points: lovely pale bisque enhanced by cobalt blue eyes, rarer body style, superb antique costume, on the early poupee inspired by the style Adelaide Huret.
