Description
16" (41 cm.) All cloth doll with pressed and oil painted complexion and facial features, impasto sculpted and painted blonde hair, blue eyes, long black upper lashes, white eye dots, red accent dots at eye corners and nostrils, blonde one-stroke brows, closed mouth with accented lips, stitch- jointed cloth body, separate thumbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Dutch girl head symbol on torso). Comments: Martha Chase, circa 1900. Value Points: perfectly preserved condition of the American studio cloth doll with wonderfully painted complexion, antique costume probably original.
