Description
9" (23 cm.) fountain. 8" boy. The carved wooden fountain designed to appear as though brick and stone work has architectural details and tin-lined fountain sink. Standing at the fountain is a young boy with polychromed terra cotta head, sculpted brown unruly hair and short beard, enamel eyes, tow-wrapped posable armature body, painted brown stockings and black shoes, original costume; along with a polychromed terra cotta rooster. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
