Description
9" x 12" (23 x 31 cm.) A heavy board box with brilliantly colorful cover depicting scenes from favorite children's stories, opens to reveal 12 large heavy card stock cards with more colorful scenes from these stories including Red Riding Hood, Puss in Boots, Sleeping Beauty, each having personages with articulated arms. The instructions for play are shown on the inside lid of the box, and included are necessary game pieces. According to the instructions, the stories represent the fairy tales of Perrault, and the game was published by Saussine of Paris, one of the most illustrious game manufacturers of 19th century France. The rare game is preserved in near mint condition. Circa 1890.
