Bisque socket head, large brown glass eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, brush stroked and multi-feathered brows, open mouth, shaded and accented lips, tongue, brunette mohair bobbed wig, composition bent limb baby body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1294 Simon & Halbig made in Germany 10 62. Comments: Simon and Halbig, probably for Franz Schmidt, circa 1915,the doll has clockwork device in head that activates by key at back of head, causing the eyes to "flirt" from side to side. Value Points: very rare model with well-functioning mechanism, made even more appealing by finest quality dewy patina of complexion, original wig, body, body finish, antique toddler costume.
