18" (46 cm.) Paper mache sculpted bulldog in cream and black colors with flocked finish, well- defined musculature, brown glass eyes, nodding head, red collar and ruff, and hinged jaw that opens and closes to reveal ferocious teeth and a growling expression. Hidden wooden wheels allow the dog to be pulled along and the jaw to open and close while the dog "growls". Excellent condition. French, circa 1890.
