Description
18"l. (46 cm.) A wooden box platform base, covered with fringed green velvet, supports an ivory- painted metal balancing stand with decorative fringe, upon which is posed, on tiptoe, a small bisque-headed doll with brown glass eyes, her arms holding upright a garland of decorated flowers and vines. The balancing bar disguises a metal track upon which the doll is actually posed, and when automaton is wound, the doll moves back and forth on the track, all the while twirling around, while music plays. French, circa 1910. Excellent condition, mechanism and music function well.
