19" (49 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead portraying lady with very slender elongated face and throat, black sculpted hair in centerpart with long loose braids drawn low beneath the ears, looped under the ears and pulled into a coiled braid at the back of head, painted facial features, upper glancing turquoise eyes, black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, aquiline nose, accented nostrils, closed mouth, muslin body with shapely waist, wooden lower limbs, very frail early muslin costume. Condition: generally excellent, some minor craquelure. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: large model with rare and well-detailed coiffure, original body, original finish.
