11" (28 cm.) Bisque head with flanged neck, painted blonde topknot, side curls and forelock curl, painted side-glancing googly eyes, black upper eyeliner and lashes, "dash" brows, button nose, closed mouth with watermelon slice smile, blue wings, original peach muslin body, bisque arms from the elbow, cotton dress and bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: made in Germany. Comments: the rare cloth-bodied bisque Kewpie, Germany, circa 1915. Value points: rare model with most appealing impish expression, fine quality of bisque, original body, antique costume.
