Bisque socket head, large brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, thick brush-stroked brows with feathered highlights and rich decorative glaze, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with richly detailed lips, sculpted philtrum and chin dimple, long brunette mohair wig, early composition and wooden ball-jointed body, elaborate antique costume and shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 18 made in Germany (head) Excelsior made in Germany (body). Comments: Kestner, circa 1890. Value Points: exceptional and rare large size 18 of the very beautiful closed mouth child, original body and body finish.
