14" men. 19" box. Six paper mache men, each different, have variations in facial modeling and moustaches, variations in uniforms that each represent a gendarme. The six, designed for play as "jeu de quills" or six-pin bowling, are presented in their original paper mache box with pressed designs to represent a police station. Excellent condition. A very rare French toy, circa 1890,in fine original condition.
