Inside the schoolroom, with paper lithographed floor to simulate tiles, is a wooden teacher's desk, two student double desks and benches, "dunce" chair, and blackboard, along with six bisque-headed dolls as students and teacher (each with glass eyes, mohair wig, antique costume),and various accessories such as lesson plans, maps, and glove. When wound, music plays, and the teacher turns her head from side to side, and waves her teaching rod as though instructing the students. Excellent condition. French, circa 1890,the wonderfully preserved schoolroom has deluxe features of music and mechanical movements.
