11" (28 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, rounded facial modeling, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, ears pierced into head, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with square cut collarette, gusset jointing, shapely torso. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2/0. Comments: attributed to Bru, circa 1860,as indicated by body style and enigmatic smile that preceded the smiling brevete model by Bru. Value Points: the rare little poupee has most appealing sculpting, brilliant eyes that contrast the pale bisque, and original tacked-on folklore costume including fingerless black knit gloves and red kidskin shoes.
