18th Century Toiletry Box with Hand-Painted Designs

15" x 12" (38 cm. x 30 cm). Heavy paper box is covered with handmade wallpaper with hand-painted designs of flowers and leaves, wide single drawer at the bottom. The box opens to reveal beautifully fitted interior with six interior compartments, and mirrored back. The box is decorated with decoupage of miniature fashionable engravings and each box is decorated with rose silk ribbon. Very good condition, two lids missing. Late 18th/early 19th century. A very rare and poignant lady's box.
