19" (48 cm). Cloth doll with flat-dimensional rounded face, oil-painted facial features and hair, shaded blue eyes, dark eyeliner, red eye shadow, outlined lashes, nose and mouth, shaded lips with outline detail, blonde painted curly hair, stitch-jointing at hips and shoulders, antique blue striped shirt and blue woolen pants, saddle shoes, knit stockings. Condition: very good, some typical rubs and dustiness, original finish. Marks: Columbian Doll Emma E. Adams Oswego New York. Comments: the Columbian doll was named for the Columbian World Exposition of Chicago in 1893 wherein the doll was awarded the Gold Medal for dolls. Value Points: signature American doll in well-loved original condition, with Emma Adams signature.
