17" (45 cm). All-cloth doll with pressed and oil painted facial features and short brown hair waved into short curls at the front of the stitched-on ears, dark grey shaded eyes with prominent black pupils, outlined eye sockets, feathered brows, closed mouth with primly set lips, muslin stitch-jointed body, stitched fingers. Condition: fair/good, complexion darkened and retouched, nose retouched, body worn. Comments: Izannah Walker, circa 1870. Value Points: most endearing and well-loved signature American cloth doll with original preserved painting of eyes, antique costume is probably original, along with early wooden slat chair.
