Description

21" (54 cm). 18" (46 cm) head width at bridge of nose. Pressed bisque swivel head of adult woman with oval facial modeling and elongated throat, on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulder blades, almond-shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eye cuts, delicately painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and multi- feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, defined dimples above and below the lips, well-defined ears with pierced ear lobes. Condition: generally excellent, very faint line from left eye corner toward side seam. Comments: attributed to Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1880,the model was created for a luxury couturier or milliner in exclusive Parisian boutique for presentation of latest haute couture. Value Points: exceptionally rare bisque portrait model with superb detail of sculpting and painting.
