23" (59 cm). Bisque socket head, large brown glass inset eyes, thick black eyeliner, dark painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with very slightly parted lips, shaded and accented lips, two square-cut upper teeth, one square-cut lower tooth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden eight-loose-ball- jointed body with straight wrists and well defined body musculature. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S 14 H 939. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. Value Points: outstanding example of the early period Simon and Halbig doll with finest bisque and painting, rich decoration of eyes and lips, original body, well detailed antique costume.
