12" (31 cm). Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked and multi- feathered brows with decorative glaze, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, unpierced ears, brunette mohair wig with side-coiled braids, early composition and wooden fully-jointed body with attached ball-joints, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 7. Comments: Kestner, circa 1890. Value Points: endearing plump-faced closed-mouth child with original body, wearing wonderful antique mariner costume, undergarments, shoes, socks, and muslin- lined straw bonnet with blue silk edging and streamers.
