Description
4" (10 cm.) l. settee. Comprising a set of carved walnut settee and three matching chairs (one chair with painted seat), in natural finish with delicately carved scrolled designs and a paper note attached which reads "made by Wm.S Leibering (?) Phila 1855". Along with a 4"h. Chippendale walnut sideboard with unusual curved leg support, burled woods, and dove-tailed construction, signed Arthur J. Wheeler on underside and with an old paper label at back reading "Halliday Wells, Somp. Arthur J. Wheeler" (age uncertain), and 6" richly-carved Chippendale side chair with silk upholstered seat (age uncertain). Excellent condition.
