13" (33 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, almond shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with hint of smile, accented lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden body with shapely torso, dowel- jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, defined sculpting of fingers and toes, shapely ankles. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D. Comments: attributed to Bru, an early model of his smiling poupee, prior to depose and with modified modeling; the wooden body is an early simplified version of his later deposed model yet still having the characteristic scalloped-edge kid collarette, circa 1865. Value Points: the rare and petite beautiful doll is virtually unplayed with, preserved in her original trunk with paper label of Maison Guillard, and owning three original gowns, woolen dress, silk blouse, shoes, and a large selection of undergarments. The Maison Guillard toy store, founded in 1831,was described in La Poupee Modele in 1863 as having "exactly what is needed to make a little girl happy!"
