Description

16" (41 cm). Bisque socket head, narrow blue glass sleep eyes in squinting expression, painted long curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth modeled as though open and crying, shaded and accented lips, dimpled chin, rosy cheeks, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 148 1. Comments: Hertel and Schwab, circa 1912, this being the rarer version of the model that was also produced with rubber ball mechanism that produced actual tears. Value Points: very rare model, few examples are known to exist, with deeply defined sculpting around the eyes and mouth, choicest bisque and painting, original rare toddler body, antique costume.
