14" (35 cm). Bisque socket head, large pale blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig in original braids, early composition and wooden body with attached ball joints, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 224 7. Comments: Bahr and Proschild, circa 1885. Value Points: rarer closed mouth version of the early German doll made to appeal to the French market, the doll has choicest bisque and painting, original body, and wears superb factory original costume, undergarments, silk lined bonnet, knit stockings and leather shoes with silk rosettes.
