16" (40 cm). Light-brown complexioned bisque socket head with deeply sculpted facial features portraying a child with beaming smile, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes, black brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with slightly parted lips, row of porcelain teeth, dimpled double chin, pierced ears, black fleecy hair, brown composition and wooden fully- jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, slight typical wig pulls at back crown. Marks: 969 S 8 H dep. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. Value Points: very rare model with superb detail of sculpting and bisque, antique costume comprising blue velvet dress with lace yoke, undergarments, shoes, stockings, and straw bonnet with silk banner labeled "Turbulent" in gold.
