Description
19" (48 cm). Solid domed bisque socket head, blonde painted hair with brushstroked detail, dark blue intaglio eyes, black and incised upper eyeliner, white eyedots, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full lips, definition of space between the shaded and accented lips, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 17 Germany (head) (Dressel holz-masse symbol on torso). Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1912. Value Points: wonderful detail of sculpting on the pensive faced character boy, impressed cheek dimples and eye crinkles.
