9" (23 cm). Bisque socket head with solid flattened dome, brown glass inset eyes, painted curly lashes, feathered and fringed brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth, outlined lips,blonde mohair wig in long braids, composition and wooden fully-jointed body with unusual shapely torso, straight wrists, tiny ankles, with original undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E.G. (in circle stamped on back). Comments: Ernst Grossman, who deposed the first ball-jointed German doll body in 1882,with facial modeling exactly resembling the Bru bebe, the doll was designed to market to the French trade and is known today as the Sonnenberg Bru. Value Points: very rare facial model, with original rare signed body, and in tiny size that is virtually unknown to exist.
