Description
20" (51 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked and multi- feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with slightly parted lips, pierced ears, dimpled chin, blonde mohair wig in long braids, commercial muslin stitch-jointed body, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent, some fingers restored. Marks: S 9 H 739 dep. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1885. Value Points: rare early model with superb sculpting and expression, original body and wig, swivel head, superb original folklore costume of Switzerland.
