20" (51 cm). Pale bisque shoulderhead with rounded facial modeling, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, original early body of muslin-over-carton upper torso, kid arms and one-piece legs with hand-stitched seams, separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, right middle finger lacking. Marks: F. 2 G. Comments: Gaultier, circa 1865,an early signed example from this important French porcelain firm. Value Points: the doll wears original attached elegant gown, undergarments, shoes, pearls, wax blossom coronet.
