11" (28 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead, sculpted green snood with red hair bow, enclosed hair except for grey tendril curls framing the face, sculpted ears, enamel inset eyes, incised age wrinkles, open mouth, teeth, tongue, tow-wrapped posable body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted stockings and yellow clogs, folklore costume, and carrying basket tray of breads. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
