A color assembly of carved wooden circus animals, performers and accessories are stored in an original packing box by Schoenhut. The group comprises 12 animals (giraffe, lion, buffalo, brown horse with carved mane, mountain goat, each with painted eyes; elephant, dappled horse, donkey, each with glass eyes; and reduced size tiger, rhino, hippo, and leopard),three clowns, three wooden headed performers, and two bisque-headed performers, along with eight accessories. The interior of the box has a lithographed cardboard base able to be removed for circus display, labeled "Humpty Dumpty circus" and the lid has a colorful illustration of the circus and is labeled "Schoenhut's Humpty Dumpty Circus Toys, Manf. Only by The A. Schoenhut Company, Philadelphia". Very good condition, original finishes and costumes on all, albeit well loved. A rare and large assembly of Schoenhut figures with wonderful box.
