15". Pressed cloth face with painted facial features portraying the film star Carmen Miranda, painted black hair, armature wrapped body, gesso arms in stylized pose. Wearing intricately designed costume comprising velour turban decorated with sequin trimmed felt feathers, felt flowers and berries, white organdy multi-tiered ruffled gown with red rick-rack edging over multi-layered petticoats, six rows of colorful beads. Marked "Irene Saltern Original" on skirt. The legendary Irene Saltern was a noted wardrobe designer for Hollywood studios including Universal and Samuel Goldwyn during the years 1938-1941, creating nearly 1000 costumes for over 150 actresses.
