13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead, heart-shaped face turned to the side, sculpted brown hair with widow's peak brushed loosely from face into a large braided coil with encircled ribbon and bow, enamel inset eyes, open mouth, beaded teeth, modeled bosom, tow-wrapped armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings and black shoes, blue silk costume with paillettes and embroidery, lace apron, carrying basket. Generally excellent. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, dainty features complement the lovely costume.
