Description
10". All muslin doll with ball-shaped center-stitched face, black stitched pate and applied felt topknot, felt ears, "O" shaped eyes with pie-cut openings, tiny attached nose, printed mouth and blushed cheeks, over-sized felt hands with four fingers, over-sized black felt shoes. Wearing original red and white knit shirt, bow tie, black felt shorts with large white buttons. Unmarked, based upon the comic character "Scrappy" drawn by Charles Heumor in the mid-1930̴s and produced by The Charles Mintz Studio for Screen Gems. The strip was short-lived and few doll examples of the figure were made. Circa 1935.
