Description
12" (30 cm.) Each has hard composition head with flanged neck and sculpted blonde hair, (the girl with braided coronet and red bow, and the boy with short side-parted hair), painted facial features, closed mouth, firmly-stuffed cloth body with disc-jointed legs, composition ball-jointed arms, each wearing factory-original folklore costume. Condition: generally excellent, complexion a bit faded on Inge. Marks: Inge (or Harald) W 1 (heads) D.R. 257216 (body). Comments: Wagner and Zetzche, circa 1916, the dolls were made of a unique composition named "Haralit". Defined by their maker as "art character dolls" they were modeled (and named after) Harald and Inge, the children of Zetzche, sculpted by Franz Reissmann. Value Points: rarely-found models, among the final offerings of the important art character movement, are all original.
