A bisque-head doll with brown glass paperweight eyes, closed mouth, brunette mohair wig, composition torso and legs and bisque arms wears an elaborate ivory silk costume with lace trim, matching bonnet, silk shoes, stands upon a velvet covered base and carries a basket in which is resting a feathered bird. Original label on base lists one tune (illegible). Movements: the girl moves head from side to side, then up and down; her left hand raises the lid of the egg, the bird flits about, her right hand lifts the bouquet of flowers as though to capture their scent. The automaton appeared in the original Leopold Lambert catalog named Bebe Oiseau, No. 37. Circa 1890. 20" (51 cm). Five movements. One tune.
