
Arranged upon an ebony finished wooden platform, under glass dome, is a bent wire arbor trimmed with flowers and leaves, under which is seated a bisque-headed lady with portrait like features, blue glass enamel eyes, slightly smiling expression, blonde human hair, carton torso and legs, and wooden hands. She wears a blue silk gown, and holds a gilt ormolu lorgnette in her right hand and a hankie in her left hand. On a pedestal table In front of the woman is a miniature book of Fables and a rose glass vase with miniature silk flowers. Movements: she alternately lifts the lorgnette as though to read, then lifts her hankie as though crying at the fable; her head turns from side to side and periodically she leans forward.
