Description

A bisque-head lady with pale complexion, grey glass enamel eyes, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig in ornate fashion, separate bisque shoulderplate, carton torso and legs, and metal hands, is posed in seated position upon a velvet- covered wooden base. She wears a silk costume with velvet trim, lace coiffe, and holds a wooden guitar in her hands. Movements: she turns her head from side to side, then nods, moves her right hand across the strings as though playing a guitar. By Gustav Vichy, France, circa 1880. 14" (36 cm). Three movements. Two tunes.
