An elaborate rural setting with mirrored pond and hillside is arranged upon an ebony-finished wooden base under a glass dome with painted background scene. A windmill is at the top of the hillside, and a building with waterwheel is at the bottom. A paper mache man with blue hat is seated in a tin boat, and there are three ducks alongside the pond. Paper label indicating music (illegible) under the base. Movements: tin boat moves side to side, man waves stick at ducks as though to frighten them away from the mill, small duck bobs head up and down as though drinking from the pond, large duck pivots back and forth as though swimming, waterwheel turns, waterfall revolves, and windmill turns. This is the only example of this model known to exist, notable for the number of movements and elaborate detail. Circa 1875. 25" height (63 cm). Seven movements. Two tunes.
