Description
A well-detailed oil on canvas depicts a village scene with manor home on the right, mountains at sunset in the background, tranquil harbor setting with two boats in the distance, village roof tops, and a church tower with actual working clock. Five people including a child are along the pathways. The painting and mechanisms are enclosed within a shadowbox with an ornate gold leaf frame. Maker Unknown. Circa 1865. 31" x 36" (76 x 91cm). Two tunes, angelus. Exhibits: Hospice Saint-Charles, Liege.
