Description
Seated upon a three-wheeled metal tricycle is a small bisque-head boy with brown glass eyes, closed mouth, brunette wig, costumed as page with maroon and ivory silk ensemble, matching crown cap, silk slippers. The boy holds a pair of bell ringer hammers in his hands, and a decorated brass bell arises from the tricycle front. The movement is signed G. Vichy Paris. Movements: the tricycle glides forward, then revolves, the boy alternately rings the bell with hammers held in his right and left hands. Gustav Vichy, France, circa 1870. 11" (28 cm). Three movements.
