Description

A bisque-head boy with brown glass paperweight eyes, closed mouth, auburn mohair wig, carton torso and legs, and bisque forearms, is standing upon a velvet-covered wooden base. He is wearing an ivory silk jacket and chef's hat, velvet trousers, cotton shirt and chef's apron, black stockings and ribbon-trimmed shoes, and holds a wine bottle in his right hand and a wooden- handled brass pot in his right hand. The head, by Jumeau, is marked Depose Tete Jumeau,3. Movements: he turns his head from side to side, then lifts the wine bottle to his mouth three times in rapid succession; and finally, appearing as though ready to begin cooking, he extends his right arm with the cooking pot.
