Description
9" and 15" (23 and 38 cm). Each is one-piece all-bisque figure of young child; one depicts a child as though just rising from a nap, arms outstretched, with sculpted blonde hair and fretful face, one sock off, modeled chemise, marked Heubach (sunburst); the other depicts a blonde haired boy with spectacles and cap, sitting backwards on a chair, holding a cigarette, as though in imitation of grown-up man. He has blue sculpted shirt and short pants with decorative beading and gilt borders, and the base has Heubach blue sunburst stamp. Excellent condition of smaller piece, left arm reglued on larger piece. Circa 1900.
