The complete doll features bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, four teeth, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, wears original muslin chemise and is marked "made in Germany 6 171_ on the head, and "Germany_ on the body. Each of the three heads has blue painted eyes with red and black upper eyeliner, lightly fringed lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, and closed mouth posed to express various moods, viz. solemn-faced with brunette mohair wig in side braids over plaster pate, marked "182_; smiling with row of painted teeth and blonde mohair curly wig over plaster pate, marked "183_; and pouty with slightly pursed lips and blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, marked "179_. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (as noted above on dolls) Kestner Character Doll (paper label with crown illustration, on box). Comments: Kestner, circa 1910. Value Points: very rare ensemble set portraying various childhood moods is perfectly preserved with superb bisque, original wigs and box.
