18" (46 cm). Poured wax shoulderhead portraying young baby, delicately inserted hair, blue glass inset eyes, deeply sculpted eye sockets, rounded nostrils, closed mouth with downcast pouty expression, softly stuffed muslin torso and upper limbs, poured wax lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa 1880. Value Points: exceptional characterization on the wistful-faced baby achieved by artful modeling, fine original condition, silk and woolen antique baby costume.
