Description
16" (41 cm.) All-carved wooden doll, socket head, sculpted hair in bobbed fashion with well-defined short upturned curls and bangs, small intaglio painted blue eyes, white eye dots, heavy eyelids, black eyeliner, feathered brows, closed mouth with serious expression, all wooden spring-jointed body, holes in feet for positioning, antique costume. Condition: very good, structurally excellent, some possible old touch-up, finish on body worn, hands very worn. Marks: Schoenhut Doll Pat. January 17, '11 USA & Foreign Countries. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1911, the important premiere offering by Graziano of Schoenhut. Value Points: very rare model with distinctive coiffure and facial modeling.
