A cardboard box whose heavy wood-framed base forms the base of the circus performing ring has illustration of the Schoenhut circus along with identification label "Small Circus Ring with Tent,30/8". The ring is framed by the original Schoenhut canvas circus tent with a myriad of circus flags and acrobatic apparatus. Included with the tent and ring are the following: donkey, pig, two tigers, ostrich, lion, camel, two white horses, poodle, giraffe, hippo, and brown horse, along with a clown, ringmaster, and acrobat, all of so-called reduced size. Also included are two standard size circus people, each with bisque head, viz. lion tamer with black hair and moustache, and lady acrobat. A large number of accessories including whip, barrels, chairs, ladders and such are included. Overall good condition, original paint is retained on all figures albeit with some rubs, original box lid worn. American, circa 1920. The set includes the very rare to find tent and box, along with rare figures such as ostrich.
